She is forever grateful to her ad agency for laying off her division – for that is when she decided to finish up school full-time. While taking a class at Hunter College, Gameela saw a flyer for auditions for “Twelfth Night”. Realizing that the “gnawing” feeling she always felt was her long-ignored childhood dream of being an actor, she decided to try out, though she had no formal training. She was cast as Maria and went on to do three other Shakespearean productions. Gameela then went back to school and has studied with Terry Schreiber and Wynn Handman to name a few. She has gone on to do theater, television, film and commercials and is proud to call herself a working actor.
